Cameroon Students Create 7 Remarkable Highlights in Cultural Exchange with Kangra Pupils

News Updates: Thirty-two students from Girls Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Indora, and PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Gangath, in Kangra district took part in an international cultural exchange with students from the central African country Cameroon via Google Meet on Saturday.
The virtual meet — attended by schoolchildren and their teachers on both sides — was organised to give pupils a direct experience of another country’s everyday life. The Cameroon delegation, led by teacher Robert Kenfack, joined the session, and students from India and Cameroon discussed each other’s culture, food habits, sports, geography and social life.

“The aim of such global interactions is to develop global citizenship, communication skills and mutual understanding,” said Mohan Sharma, Principal of Girls GSSS, Indora. He added that exchanges like this help broaden young minds and prepare students to engage confidently with the world.
During the session, students compared festivals, traditional foods and games, and spoke about life in their respective communities. Teachers emphasised cross-cultural respect and the value of learning through direct dialogue. School coordinators said the activity also strengthened digital literacy, as pupils used Google Meet to present, listen and ask questions across time zones.

Organisers described the programme as a step toward more frequent international classroom linkages for Kangra schools, saying that such initiatives foster empathy and curiosity among students while building practical communication skills.
